Inspiration Boost Paris

It strikes me every time how healing, inspiring and refreshing it is to step out of your daily routine, such as going away for a weekend.  Going to a place where you can see new things, so you can get a different point of view on (your) life. Paris is a place that will guarantee to stimulate your creativity. Don’t forget to visit the addresses below when visiting this romantic city.

1. Vintage

It’s kind of a shock once you walk out of the subway, where is that cool vintage market? Don’t give up, past the stalls with cheap clothing you will find the part with great home accessories. If you follow the antique market signs, you are close by. The vintage market, which is created in 1885, has the size of 6 acres. I found the ‘cabinet of curiosities stalls’ especially inspiring, the trend is completely back and many designers are inspired by this. For example here you can find fossils, preserved organisms, skulls, large cloches or other crazy items.

2. Healthy and good

Nicely decorated, but most important: healthy snacking. The frozen yogurt is fat-free and consists of 100% fruit, the toppings are all fresh and healthy (for example; strawberries, coconut and all kinds of nuts). Also smoothies and ‘fruit soups’.

My Berry, 25 rue Vieille du Temple, (Le Marais, metro Saint-Paul)

3. Scented Bubbles

Francis is the ‘nose’ behind many scents that you have or ever owned. His own line is not to be despised, and his shop is like a candy store for adults. This man is an artist in the world of perfume and beyond. Walking down this street de scented bubbles will come towards you. Here you can also buy bubble blower with different scents and colors (€12).

4. Art Cocktails (and pizza)

This concept, of the owners of concept store Merci, is great! Simple but really tasty authentic pizzas and a menu full of arty cocktails. This is the place where you can combine dining and going out (perfect after a whole day wandering around the city). Beautifully lit and decorated, as you would like to have in your own living room. The only downside is it’s a bit difficult to choose from all those cocktails. The flowery one with roses or that fresh one with a hint of mint?

5. Feel good

The new sister of H&M & Other Stories have created a beauty line, which would make you very happy. Inspiring packaging, affordable and, not unimportant, very delicious. I saw this at concept store Colette (where I had to stand in a queue to get in on Saturday…)

6. Maximum inspiration

This is not a concept store, but a concept department store.  DO NOT miss this address, and take your time. In the basement you can enjoy a healthy breakfast or lunch, the ‘used book’ cafe is also really nice. Be inspired by the crème de la crème of clothing, accessories, notebooks, kitchenware, plants, jewelry, special wallpaper and much more. Blisteringly expensive to bizarre cheap, there is something for everyone.
